About Us

Established in 1933 by Mrs Lottie Wood

Narrabeen Lakes Amateur Swimming Club has evolved from a ladies only team to become one of the few sports that the entire family can participate in. That family togetherness is something the entire club treasures and actively fosters.

We enjoy family fun, friendly competition, fresh air during the swimming season at North Narrabeen Rock Pool. Each Saturday afternoon kids, parents, grandparents, adults….in short people have a great time swimming in non competitive races. Races have staggered starts (official term is handicapped)to encourage everyone to swim to their best potential and offer range of distances. There are so few sports that can accommodate people from pre-schoolers to retirees, and to have this…in paradise at our beloved pool is something quite special.

We all meet down at our clubhouse at the rockpool at 1.30pm on Saturdays (October to March) to sign in for our races. You accrue points for each swim and placing. You can do as little or as many as you like, and you come as you suit. We all help out setting up and packing up, and everyone gets to time and even start races.

We often see whales and dolphins frolicking in the ocean and swim among the fishes in our beloved sand based pool.

If you would like to come and try out our club, first 3 swims are free. However, only registered swimmers points count towards their overall point score for the season. Just turn up, register between 12.30pm and 1.15pm, and swim on Saturdays anytime between October and March and join in the fun.
